Lagarde Backed by the UK

Lagarde Backed by the UK

After the scandal that brought him the most of troubles and attention in the world, the head of the International Monetary Fund has resigned. However, this is no relief for the body as it is now governed by no-one but the 24 chairmen. Currently, a new director needs to be appointed as quickly as possible if the organization is to proceed to functioning normally.

One of the most probable people suitable for the position is the French minister of finance, Lagarde who has much of authority to deal with the matters of the International Monetary Fund. Her application is backed by many of the countries who have their say in the governance of the fund and whose future largely depends on the performance of the organization. The UK has given its consent after the UK Chancellor George Osborne has given his consent and has formally backed the application of the French minister. This is a clear sign that thus the Parliament has given consent for the Chancellor to make such a decision and to give formal support.

It has been argued that the UK would propose a British financial expert for the position. However, this was not the case and the financial commentators in the country have not even made a comment on the scenario. Nevertheless, it would have been an extremely suitable position for a UK expert having in regard the fact that the UK needs financial attention from other institutions.

The red diesel Manchester producers and many other people seeking financial support and the back up from a third institution on a global have not waited enough to see a Brit on this highly important position that might focus the Monetary Fund in a more UK prospective.

The Write Way Forwards.

One of the things I love most of all about being a writer is the amount of ‘job variety'it so often involves. Because I can never be sure of exactly what each new day will bring, it means I have a continual sense of excitement! And there are surprisingly few jobs you can say that about. I mean, you will know exactly what to expect each day if you are standing beside a machine in a factory for hours on end… (Believe me, I know all about that from my own experience!). However, being a writer is totally different; one day you may be required to write blog posts for a data management company, whilst the next you could be providing written content for a designer clothing website.

Writing related – scam

I am a professional writer, and I get paid to write content for people’s blogs, website, advertising campaigns and other projects, and I have recently been the victim of a scam artist that took my content and never paid me for it. This was a complete nightmare at first and I felt so angry and upset that someone would betray my trust like that. I am telling you because I want you to know what to look out for, and how to deal with it if you should ever end up in the same situation.

I Love Writing

Soon after finishing university with a degree in IT, I landed up in call centers where I was assisting customers, selling products, making collection calls and finally supporting dell customers with their hardware and software problem. I enjoyed the last one very much, it paid well and obviously a lot of fun adds up when you are paid well. Life was fun, but also stagnant. A creepy feeling always came into my mind that may be I will be working in call centers all my life and this feeling was not helped by the elderly who sat and took calls with me.

Russia + The UK = ?

Our dear Prime Minister have finally made a step ahead of his predecessors – he visited Russia as being the first UK PM to do so after the spy scandal between the two countries almost 12 years back. The conclusions from the visit are clear – Britain needs Russian money desperately, it actually needs any money from anywhere. However, cooperation with Russia is crucial since while the West is getting poorer, the East is growing strong and mister Cameron is clever enough to realize that.

Are Police Cuts Really Necessary

Are Police Cuts Really Necessary

Despite the fact that both leading political formations in the UK – the Tories and the Labours, seem to be quite inadequate in their proposals for coping with the British economic problems, the latter expressed a genuine and quite reasonable concern about whether the enactment of the police cuts by the Tory government should continue. The concern is mainly related with the unavailability of police force in the UK which became quite clear after the riots in London, Manchester and Birmingham. The public was afforded no protection against the rioters and this is the reason why many people were devastated having their businesses crashed and their homes burnt by violent criminals marching freely around London.

If completely enacted, the police cuts would reduce the number of officers in the UK. They would also decrease the availability of policing equipment, would reduce the operating budget of the police boroughs and would probably affect the preservation of peace initiatives inside the country. The deficiency of funds would also equalize the number of officers in specific areas – this is completely wrong as areas such as the violent Tottenham need more policing than the peaceful Uxbridge areas. Police might even need some advanced Octopus HR software to coordinate its officers simply because the need for policing would increase.

Despite these concerns, Mr Cameron and his deputy prime minister Clegg are refusing to accept removal of the police cuts scheme. rather than redirecting the cuts in a more favorable area that needs less current attention, the leaders of the UK would go ahead with the propsed money saving measures. Hopefully, this would expose the country to further violence and police inability to cope with it.

UK Growth slows to 0.2%

UK Growth slows to 0.2%

The UK economy suffered too much of problems int he last year. From a steadily growing economic power, UK lost its economy around the second and third quarter of 2010. However, the first quarter of 2011 revealed some signs of healing when a percent of growth was marked. This put the beginning of huge talks about how the government was underestimated and how the economy is finally building up itself to a good level of stability. Nonetheless, we again witness economic problems – the economy shrunk again with only 0,2% of growth in the second quarter of 2011.

Economists say this is caused by the jumping oil prices, the Japanese problems where the UK had significant loss of interests in trade with Japan and so on. In domestic factors, elements such as unemployment in some particular regions and severe economic pressure on stock trading have contributed to the slowing down of the recession. Some suggestions even lead to the political problems of the country where the exhaustion of huge military resource for operations in Libya has costed the UK an opportunity to input budget savings into the restoration of the economy.

But even when the economy slows down, the politicians of the day are positive. The Tories once again said that the economy is actually working and all is fine until this economy is creating jobs for its people. Probably Mr Cameron needs to go through digital display printing and advertise his persona by saying that he actually achieved a progress in economic terms rather than firing 3000 people from the public sector in Manchester.

The fact is that the economy is again decreasing in its temps of development and the UK is in need of more savings to be inputted into the corporate and business environment. Otherwise, the country is again risking an economic stability problem.

Superbugs Contaminating US Meat And Poultry

Superbugs Contaminating US Meat And Poultry

Burgers? Check. Mince? Check. Chicken? Check. Staphylococcus? WHAT? Your family barbeque has an unexpected and most unwelcome visitor in the form of a superbug.

Meat and poultry is contaminated by dangerous bacteria, including superbugs that are antibiotic resistant. Recent nationwide studies by the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), situated in Flagstaff, Arizona, have determined that a staggering 47% of the tested samples were contaminated, of which 52% contained superbugs. Said samples were from different sources, brands and stores primarily located in Los Angeles, Washington DC, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale and Flagstaff areas, which is extremely worrying.

Further testing showed that the root cause may be found in the animals'food, which raises questions about how antibiotics are widely used in animal-food production. This has been the source of vigorous debate within the industry and among political divides. There have also been a number of news stories relating to this issue. The jury is still out. Now since I will be flying on some cheap flights over the next few months, I can only hope they don’t serve any of those meats.

The infected animals are reared in heavily populated arms where they’re dosed with small quantities of antibiotics. This unfortunately creates the perfect breeding ground for the drug resistant bacteria which will then pass from animal to human.

The World Health Organization recognizes the connection between the use of antibiotics in livestock and the ever resistant superbugs. If that’s the case, why have these industrial farms been permitted to continue this lethal practice when it has been banned in Europe except when directly treating illness?

Scape-goats & Bad Behaviour…

The new series of the ever watchable and awe-inspiringly funny The Apprentice kicked off last night with an explosive episode containing…well, lots of mistakes and people looking a bit thick. Not just any people, but some of England’s finest business acumen. This is something we’ve all come to expect of course, but this first episode was especially brutal, and made the project manager Edward look like a less than desirable employee. And that’s saying nothing for when he appeared on …You’re Fired on BBC 2 afterwards…

So it begs the question: why do law professionals and accountants often come off looking the worse in the media? I’m not just talking the Alan Sugar based show, either. Watch a gangster film and it’s usually the politician or the accountant type that gets gunned down first or last. But there again, the murky world of law and order has always been entangled with criminality, and then the credit-crunch came along and anyone who worked with numbers or was supposed to be administering “justice” suddenly got a right earful, and justifiably so, under the terrible circumstances…

So, what’s your opinion: is this harsh image deserving? Or should we calm down and find a new less damaged scape-goat in the way of the politicians right at the top of the food-chain?

Well, one thing’s for sure, there’ll be another scandal coming along soon enough, whether it’s DNA Testing , food, politics or health and safety. We’ll just have to wait to find out what it’s going to be…

No economic benefits from the fuel duty cut

The Chancellor George Osborne’s recent decision to cut 1p of the price of fuel in March’s Budget and cancel the Government’s plans to raise duty by 5p in April were hailed by some groups as a decision that would provide financial relief for millions of motorists in the country. However, since the price of oil has continued to soar at an unprecedented rate, any so-called ‘relief'from the Budget has effectively been ‘cancelled out’. The price of petrol now stands at roughly the same price as it was immediately before the Budget. Worse still, many petrol retailers in the country failed to pass on the Government’s fuel price cuts for several days. Understandably, this angered many motorists who have had to endure significant economic hardship, particularly those living in rural areas where the price of petrol and diesel is usually higher. Unfortunately, there is little hope of any further cuts in fuel duty in the future because of the price of oil. In fact, some groups have warned motorists to expect the price of petrol to rise to £1.50 a litre by December, which could force some drivers off the roads altogether. With the rate of these increases, it is becoming increasingly clear that in order to sustain Britain’s fragile economic growth, it is time to encourage more people to make use of public transport. However, with the cost of return rail fares between some major British cities as high as £300; it may be a better idea to fly instead. Either that, or finding the Best Home Equity Loans.
